Question by Some Prince: Can I buy property in Dubai?
Hello all,
I am not a resident of UAE, but I want to buy some property in Dubai. My problem is that I have in cash UAE dirhams, but I cannot send them via bank transfer since my american bank don’t accept such currency to be deposited…And to make things even worse I cannot bring the cash in Dubai myself because the airport has restrictions of 40 000 dirhams…(my amount is 10 times more).

So, I am interested if I can carry more than 40 000 dirhams if I declare them at the airport?

Any other ways to import the currency???

My best answer would be to go to the Embassy for the UAE in the US and ask this question.

I traveled to Dubai in 2005 and did not need a visa to enter the country because I was an American. I sugguest you get in contact with the UAE embassy; they are the best at answering this question

U.S. citizens can buy property in Dubai, but you can only buy at certain areas. What you need to do is find a relate there to help you. Just because you own something does not mean you get permanent residence there. We citizens can only own so much and do so much.
