Unless you are printing custom postage to justify the cost per label ($0.11ea as of of this review) I can’t see why you wouldn’t just buy stamps.

The printer works great. But this is one of those ??? moments where you wonder who thought this was a good deal.

The Dymo / Endicia stamp-printing option is the best I’ve found. Many others (including [..]printed on Seiko Smart Printer, and [..] Internet Postage printed by the sheet on a “regular” printer) result in significant — and very expensive — waste (I throw away the addressee and return address labels which come with the Seiko “stamps”, and use only the “stamps” themselves). Dymo is the only printer which will print these one-off stamps, which come in a roll with stamps only (no useless additional labels which must be thrown away). Also, this source(Gamma Discount through Amazon) is the lowest price (by far) I have found for these roll stamps for the Dymo. It is incredibly convenient to be able to print postage by-the-stamp (especially with my USB postage scale which will automatically determine the “denomination” of stamp needed). Endicia has both a “free” service (no monthly charge in addition to postage purchased) as well as a more sophisticated service with monthly fee (in addition to postage purchased) which works with Dymo printer for stamps.

I’ve tried to save money by using “Dymo Compatible” versions of these stamp rolls, but they don’t work nearly as well as actual Dymo stamp labels, p/n 30915. The two generic versions I’ve tried tend to be cut haphazardly, often offset into the stamp label. The strip of labels also tends to stick to itself when rolled up, causing the stamps themselves to get pulled around or off entirely from the backing strip and jamming inside the Dymo printer. According to Dymo, as of this writing, it is not possible to buy true Dymo Stamp Labels from anybody but their exclusive reseller, Endicia:

    DYMO Stamps® 30915 Labels

In order to ensure that DYMO Stamps® Postage Labels are only sold to actual users of the DYMO Stamps® service, Endicia is the exclusive reseller for DYMO Stamps® labels. DYMO manufactures these labels specifically for use with the DYMO LabelWriter 400 & 450 Turbo, Twin Turbo and Duo printers. There are 200 labels per roll. Label Dimensions: 1-5/8″ x 1-1/4″

    1 Roll $20.95*

    *includes First-Class shipping

    2-9 Rolls $15.95/each

    10 Pack $149.99/pack

I do sympathize with the cost criticisms. You really have to consider if it’s worth the extra 7.5 to 10.5 cents (depending upon the quantity you buy, not to mention shipping fees – oh, and there’s the one-time cost of the printer as well) on top of postage each time you print a stamp. My justification is that I tend to mail a lot of different size and shape envelopes and packages requiring a range of postage, and it’s hard to predict how many of any value stamp I would need from month to month – not to mention how much I dislike trekking to the Post Office. Mostly, though, I’m just lazy.

There aren’t a lot of options for people who want to print postage at home without paying a monthly fee to a website. This is one of your options, and works with many of the Turbo or newer LabelWriter series. They adhere well and never jam for me, but after having a box a year or so they do tend to yellow, though it doesn’t diminish usability of the product.

Make sure at the Dymo website that your dymo labelwriter is compatable with “postage” before purchasing. All newer models are, and anything Turbo 400 or newer should work.

The only reason this review is 4 stars instead of 5 is that the price could be better in my opinion.

These are cheap generic labels. They do not feed properly in the Dymo LabelWriter printer. Misleading seller.
