  • QuietBearr:

I would highly suggest it, especially after my testing (check them out if you havnt yet, you will be very impressed).

    Especially for $105!!!

  • FabioCrow07770:

Pretty damn cool Knife I May have to buy one after the holidays

  • QuietBearr:

It really is a great knife, I love it, still have to send it in for repairs though lol.

  • severzero:

I love this knife! I want one so bad lol. Its def next on my list! Great review.

  • QuietBearr:

I know, but when you say “Tanto” in America, it refers to the sharp edges that meet at an angle, not the rounded area.

So in America, this is a modified tanto, or “Spanto”

  • RDPproject:

    Just one thing….
    Who named the blade design?
    You or Entrek?
As a student of Japanese history and swordsmanship.
I can tell you that the blade design you have there is more a “Traditional” design than a “Modified” design.
The folder you showed us is a modified version.
All modern Tanto’s with the two cutting edges were modified from the japanese
blade by hollywood when they started to use the Ninja swords. Someone took the end of the sword and copied it into what we have today.

  • RDPproject:

    Holy cow Logan!!
I love what you did over in the side box. That has got to be the BEST info sheet that I have seen anyone supply.
You did a good job with it. That side info sheet and the video together…..
    Top marks.
I wish there were more knife reviewers who did that kind of thing.

  • QuietBearr:

Same as when its dry. Thats the way Micarta is, impervious to water, oil, cold, hot, its really a great handle material.

  • The67676767676767676:

what is the handle like when it is wet

  • QuietBearr:

Love it, it is done very nicely and shaped well!

  • The67676767676767676:

how do you like that canvas micarta handle

  • xpgek:

    btw nice knife

  • QuietBearr:

    yea lol

  • xpgek:

the bear at the begining needs to clean his theet dude

  • QuietBearr:

Ray Ennis – “The more rounded tip is the latest evolution of the knife.”

So it is the survivor, just the latest model of it and the pictures on his site are not updated yet. He is rebuilding his website with the latest pics now.

  • QuietBearr:

Yea I know right, I mean, it is very expensive, and personally, I dont even like the design.

But it is in high carbon rather than stainless, so that is one plus.

  • RedJellyable:

i looked up ray mears knife and there is a 10 year waiting list unreal who can wait that long! bear grylls knife costs 395 pounds which in dollars is around 600 dollars a rip off i bet this knife is just as good.

  • QuietBearr:

Yea I think it is a lot better than the CS Recon Tanto, unless you specifically like the shape of the recon tanto…

  • Severator:

the CS Recon is what came to my mind right away, but like you point out for the small price diff, thats a no brainer. I dig that rounded tanto style too.

  • QuietBearr:

I know according to the pictures, but it is the survivor, and certainly not the jag, it is way bigger than the jag.

  • gusherb94:

Looks like you lucked out and found someone that did an excellent job as well, it’s hard to find a contractor to do a job that neat. I went through hell to find the right person for our house.

  • 1doi3:

air heaters are not so healthy, and not so efficient.

  • seansuth:

Furnaces are one of those evil expences. Yes, a new one cost a chunk up front, but the savings over time are well worth it. You musta been nice an toasty this past month!
